[Discussion] Why are textboards dead outside of Japan? [Serious]

Whenever people think textboards, 2ch comes to mind. even when world4ch still existed, not many used it and when they did, it was full of jap posts along with autistic spam

Fast forward today and you see the average western text board gets like 5 posts a day at most.
Is it safe to say that textboards there will never be popular?

日本で2chのような掲示板が発達したのは2chの前身的存在でありスレッドフロート型掲示板である「あめぞう」の存在が大きい。
その利便性から「あめぞう」に人が集まり、そして荒らしやサイバー攻撃により住民が散り散りになったことで、あめぞうのような、つまりは2chタイプの掲示板が繁栄したと私は考える。
海外ではスレッドフロート型掲示板は作られなかったのか？
